This is one of those pictures about football, and I guess you have to know both references but I’m going to post it any way.

Short story: Leeds United (the team that I support) are ‘owned’ (via a myriad of mystery deposits in various Caribbean islands) by a shit, who doesn’t look too dissimilar from the Colonel. In more recent times he’s sold the best players for pittance, and has focused the majority of the club’s funds on a hotel (note he bought Chelsea for £1 in the late 70s, and spent years dicking around building ‘Chelsea Village’). Basically he’s a two-bit shitheap tycoon.

Any way, so Simon Grayson, Leeds’ manager was sacked the other weeks and amidst all the people who could actually present a cat (manage a club), former Barcelona and Chelsea (there under Bates’ (pictured) reign) Spanish rightback and professional midget, Albert ‘Chapi’ Ferrer. This man has managed one team since his retirement in 2003 - Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem - and steered them to the lofty heights of 15th out of 18.

So comes to the picture. It is my belief that Ken Bates wishes to bestow the manager’s job on little Albert Ferrer so he can reenact John Cleese’s Basil Fawlty character and churlishy announce he’s from Barcelona whenever anything goes wrong before he dies.
